Seawolves Sweep GNAC Multi-Event Titles, Bringing Home Gold to Anchorage

UAA track and field athletes Vivien Liessfeld and Anders Larsen are celebrating a monumental achievement, securing the top spots in the heptathlon and decathlon respectively at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Track and Field Championships in Ellensburg, Washington – marking a historic sweep for the Seawolves!

After a challenging week of competition, battling illness and tough weather, Liessfeld and Larsen became just the sixth pair of teammates in GNAC history to claim both titles simultaneously, and the first in over a decade. Liessfeld dominated the heptathlon, scoring a career-best 4,999 points, placing her second all-time in the UAA program and within striking distance of the GNAC’s all-time top-10 list. Larsen, a Chugiak native, impressed with a personal best of 6,969 points in the decathlon, securing second-highest score in Seawolf history.
