Anchorage Events Calendar — What’s Happening This Month

The world’s most famous sled dog race kicks off with a ceremonial start through downtown Anchorage. Thousands of spectators line 4th Avenue. Free to watch — one of Alaska’s biggest events.

The iconic Anchorage Saturday Market returns every weekend May through September. Local vendors, crafts, fresh produce, food stalls, and live music at the downtown parking lot.

Anchorage celebrates the longest day of the year with outdoor concerts, street art, food trucks, and the famous Mayor’s Midnight Sun Marathon. The city truly comes alive at midnight with full daylight.

Anchorage goes all out for Independence Day with the Freedom Run, fireworks at Delaney Park Strip, food vendors, and family activities throughout the day.
